Patrick J. Tiberi

Since January 2018, Pat Tiberi has served as president and chief executive officer of the Ohio Business Roundtable (OBRT). Under Tiberi’s leadership, OBRT has grown its membership, strengthened its collaboration with like-minded business organizations, and remains focused on economic development across the state.

Workforce development is a critical priority for OBRT members, and in 2019, Governor Mike DeWine appointed Tiberi chairman of the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board, which is responsible for advising the governor, lieutenant governor and the Office of Workforce Transformation about emerging workforce needs, solutions and best practices.

Additionally, Pat Tiberi works closely with state and federal elected officials to ensure the business community’s voice is considered on key economic decisions, including areas such as housing, taxes, energy and education. As a result of that work, the OBRT has become a convener on imperative issues — one such example being an energy workgroup that helped drive significant reforms for Ohio’s power grid.

Prior to OBRT, Tiberi served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing central Ohio. During his 17-year tenure, Tiberi earned a reputation as a principled, policy-focused legislator who routinely worked across party lines. Tiberi served as a senior member and chaired subcommittees on the House Ways and Means Committee, working on tax policy, healthcare and trade policy. In his final year in the House, Tiberi chaired the Joint Economic Committee, which is singularly focused on policies to create jobs and strengthen our economy. From 1992-2001, Tiberi served in the Ohio House of Representatives, which included being selected by his colleagues for the role of majority floor leader on Speaker JoAnn Davidson’s leadership team.

The son of Italian immigrants, Tiberi has been a lifelong resident of central Ohio. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and was a member of marching band. In addition to serving as a trustee of The Ohio State University, Tiberi is a member of the Board of Directors for CareSource.

Pat and his wife, Denice, are the proud parents of four daughters.
