Kendall C. Buchan
Kendall C. Buchan, DDS, is a prosthodontics resident at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, from which she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2023.
A native of Battle Creek, Michigan, Dr. Buchan earned her Bachelor of Science in human biology from Michigan State University. As a student, she took an active interest in service on campus and in the surrounding community. She served as a learning assistant in the Department of Chemistry and was a volunteer with the Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing. Over the 2017-18 winter break, she traveled to rural Nicaragua to educate children and teens on oral hygiene and self-care, and worked to provide safe drinking water to local community members.
Dr. Buchan continued her commitment to servant leadership after beginning her studies at Ohio State. She co-chaired a mentorship program for incoming dental students, served as a volunteer teaching assistant and was a longtime leader of Give Kids a Smile, a student organization that brings together volunteers annually to provide free, comprehensive dental care to children in need. She also served as president of the university’s student chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and as vice president, president-elect and president, of the College of Dentistry’s Executive Student Government Association. She has also been a member of the Ohio State American Association of Women Dentists and the Ohio State Special Care Dentistry Club.
The recipient of numerous academic honors, Dr. Buchan received The Ohio State University College of Dentistry Student Ambassador Award in 2022 and the Carl O. Baucher Outstanding Prosthodontic Student Award in 2023.
