Amy Werner Chronis
Amy Chronis retired from Deloitte LLP in June 2024, where she was the vice chair, U.S. energy & and chemicals industry leader, serving as a senior advisor to some of Deloitte’s largest global clients and had oversight of the U.S. industry practice, including strategy, growth as well as both talent and solution development. Under Amy’s leadership, the practice grew significantly in clients, professionals and eminence.
Amy is also the immediate past managing partner for Deloitte’s Houston practice where she led noteworthy client success and was responsible for management, marketplace eminence, succession planning, leadership development, and DEI talent and recruiting initiatives for more than 3,400 practitioners. During her leadership tenure, the Houston marketplace increased revenue more than 50% and was routinely recognized as a top place to work.
Across 30 years of proven executive leadership, Amy led and successfully guided organizations — from early-stage, venture-backed enterprises to some of the world’s largest companies — across a diverse range of business issues, bringing notable expertise in the areas of strategic planning, business transformation, technology and enterprise risk management.
Amy is an independent board member for Kinder Morgan, Inc. She has continuously served as an active civic leader, contributing efforts to nonprofit boards including the Greater Houston Partnership (2021 chair), Central Houston, Texas 2036, Texas Business Leadership Council, The Ohio State University Board of Trustees’ Audit and Finance Committees, the United Way of Greater Houston, The University of Texas Accounting Advisory Council, and the Texas Business Hall of Fame. She also served on the board of directors for the Deloitte Foundation, and on the Nominating Committee for Deloitte’s U.S. Board of Directors.
Amy has been recognized with several awards for her work in the community and industry leadership. She received the Bob Onstead Leadership Award from the Greater Houston Partnership, is a Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame inductee, was named one of Hart Energy’s 25 Influential Women in Energy and as Humanitarian of the Year by Latino Learning Center. She is also the recipient of The Ohio State University’s Executive Pace Setter award and both the Houston Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO award and Women Who Mean Business Lifetime Achievement award.
Amy is a CPA - retired status and is National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Certified. She graduated with honors from The Ohio State University and completed the Executive Program at Columbia University Business School.
While at Ohio State, Amy was a four-year scholar athlete on the varsity cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams and a Pace Setter’s Jack W. Stephenson Award winner.
