Janet B. Reid, Ph.D. is a Founding Partner and retired Director of Global Novations, a management consulting firm that serves Fortune 100 corporations world-wide in leadership development and talent management. Global Novations was acquired by Korn/Ferry International in 2012.
Dr. Reid’s prior professional experience includes a decade at Procter & Gamble where she held a series of progressively more responsible positions including: Research Chemist, Section Head and Brand Manager. She earned a Ph.D. in BioInorganic Chemistry from Howard University in 1979, and a B.S. in Chemistry in 1975. Her research in the area of kinetics and metalloporphyrins was accepted and published in many refereed scientific journals.
Dr. Reid has been widely quoted on issues of organizational structure, career development, diversity and inclusion and globalization (with an emphasis on business development in China). She has also been a consultant and coach to numerous c-suite executives and has personally helped develop business and talent strategies in over 100 national and international corporations and organizations.
Dr. Reid is a Trustee of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee, member of the Executive Committee and former Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is also a member of the Mercy Health Market Board. She has extensive prior board service including: Chair of the Board of the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce; Chair of the Board of the Health Foundation (a $250 million foundation); Director of Catholic Health Partners and Vice Chair of the Mission and Governance Committee; Founder of the African American CEO Roundtable; Director of ChoiceCare, a healthcare organization that sold to Humana; Board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Cincinnati Branch; Board member of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation (a $450 million foundation), and Board member of the United Way of Cincinnati and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee.
Dr. Reid resides in Cincinnati and is the wife of Dr. Calvin Washington, D.V.M., Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army and an OSU graduate of the Veterinary School, and mother of four children, Dr. Amanda Reid, a psychologist, Leon A. Reid, IV, a sculptor, Kyle Washington, a financial analyst, and Veronica Washington, a college student.
