Janet B. Reid, Ph.D. was appointed to the board of trustees by Governor Strickland in 2009 to serve a nine-year term. Dr. Reid is a Principal Partner and Co-Founder of Global Lead Management Consulting, an international talent and market optimization firm.
Dr. Reid shapes and develops effective leadership strategies for Fortune 100 multinational corporations. She is a sought-after lecturer and speaker on issues of globalization as it impacts corporations and the management of talent. Her insights on diversity, globalization and career development have appeared in numerous national business publications.
Dr. Reid’s previous professional experience includes ten years at Procter & Gamble where she was a business leader in Product Development and Brand Management. She earned a Ph.D. in BioInorganic chemistry from Howard University in 1979, and a B.S. in Chemistry in 1975. Her research in the area of kinetics and metalloporphyrins was accepted and published in many refereed journals.
Dr. Reid was the first woman and first person of color to chair the Board of the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce and the first board chair for the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati. She serves on the Board of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Xavier University of Cincinnati, the Catholic Healthcare Partners, the largest health system in Ohio and one of the largest non-profit healthcare systems in the country, and is a member of the Board of the Cincinnati City Center Development Corporation (3CDC) which is responsible for the development of Cincinnati's inner core.
Dr. Reid resides in Cincinnati and is the mother of two children, Dr. Amanda Reid Freeman, a psychologist and Leon A. Reid, IV, a sculptor.
